I always know when Fall has arrived not by the leaves changing color, not by the cooler morning temperatures, or the rain…but by the change in the angle of the sun as it streams in through my front window. All throughout the Winter, Spring and Summer, the 3 crystals that hang in the bay window remain empty of light, but as the season turns to Fall, sunlight catches inside the prisms, casting chinks of rainbow all about the living room walls and hardwood floor.
This morning when I got up early and opened the wooden blinds, colorful prisms swirled magically around the cats and me! That is my signal to adorn my home with Autumn decor and garlands. So that is what I am doing today. Out of storage comes the apple tree wall hanging, the pumpkins, acorns, sunflowers and assorted Autumn leaves. Time to take down the green leafy printed drapes, time fill the candle cups and switch out the throw pillows.
I love Autumn!
